The ATOP convention, under the leadership of National President Ms. Junel Ann Divinagracia, was attended by nearly 1,600 tourism officers and Local Government officials. The summit featured a robust agenda, including comprehensive breakout and plenary sessions, the ATOP Pearl Awards, and “A Night in South Cotabato,” which celebrated local products and honored the contributions of tourism officers nationwide.

The event is graced by Senator Lito Lapid, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Tourism, who facilitated the awarding of the commendable and exceptional government organizations, tourism officers and local government units (LGUs). TIEZA’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Mark T. Lapid, engaged with the attendees and answered their concerns on tourism infrastructure and key policies. He emphasized the agency’s commitment to sustainability within LGU tourism programs, reinforcing the importance of aligning these initiatives with national laws and local development plans.

A key event in the convention is the break-out sessions on the future of sustainable tourism infrastructure and investments in our country. TIEZA is represented by ACOO Atty. Karen Mae G. Sarinas-Baydo and she highlighted TIEZA’s ongoing initiatives and infrastructure projects as well as the TIEZA guidelines for the approval of tourism infrastructure. She also discussed with the tourism officers on how the private sector can be supported to undertake the priority investment activities in the tourism sector, which are facilitated by the Philippine government and can be registered with TIEZA under the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act for the availment of fiscal incentives.

Also in attendance are other Department of Tourism (DOT) officials and representatives from various government and private organizations across the country.
