The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) is all set to take part in the Philippine hosting of the 21st Edition of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in Manila, Philippines on 20-22 April 2022. The WTTC Global Summit is a globally recognized tourism forum for both public and private sectors aimed at raising awareness on the significant role of travel and tourism. For this gathering, the main focus is to continue aligning efforts to support the sector’s recovery under the theme, “Rediscovering Travel”. This event will be attended by both senior public and private sector figures in the travel and tourism industry from all over the world.

On the heels of the WTTC Global Summit, TIEZA organizes a forum for investment offerings on the 23rd of April 2022, Saturday, to be participated in by key Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs). TIEZA’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mark Lapid will deliver the opening remarks to be followed by the DOT Regional Director Caroline Uy on why Clark is a prime investment and tourism destination. This is to be followed by a series of investment offerings from TIEZA, Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), Clark Development Corporation (CDC), Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), and Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation, to be presented by Atty. Karen Mae G. Sarinas-Baydo, Assistant Chief Operating Officer, TIEZA TEZ Management Sector; Ms. Rynah F. Ventura, Vice President, CDC; Engr. Joshua M. Bingcang, Senior Vice President, BCDA; Atty. John V. Aquino, Chief of Staff, Office of the Chairman and Administrator, SBMA;  and, Ms. Bi Yong Chungunco, Chief Executive Officer, and Ms. Evangeline Gabor-Tejada, Vice President for Commercial Development, LIPAD Corp., respectively. Proving that Clark is a viable investment destination in the country, business locators within the said area will deliver their testimonials on the effectivity and sustainability of the institutional and socio-economic support from the government. The Public-Private Partnership Center (PPPC) will then discuss the Legal Framework for PPP with foreign investors and legislation developments for PPP.

The site for this year’s WTTC Global Summit Investment Tour is in Clark Freeport, Mabalacat, Pampanga. It is the only Freeport in the country which features an international airport that serves as a gateway to several key points in Asia Pacific Region.
