Tourism industry key players have convened for the Laguna and Batangas Cluster of the TIEZA Investment Roadshow, entitled “TIEZA Investment Incentives and Opportunities for Tourism Enterprises” on 08 August 2024 at Seda Nuvali, Laguna.

This roadshow is part of an annual series organized by the TIEZA – Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Offices. The purpose of the event is to update tourism stakeholders on TIEZA’s incentive programs under the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act, including the registration process for these incentives. Additionally, the roadshow aims to highlight and promote viable tourism products and opportunities offered by TIEZA.

Assistant Chief Operating Officer for TEZ Management Sector, Atty. Karen Mae G. Sarinas-Baydo, led the opening of the program with a focus on TIEZA’s pivotal role in positioning the Philippines as a premier destination for tourism investments. She highlighted the importance of engaging with TIEZA, particularly in the sustainable development of tourism in the region.

In a video message, TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Mark T. Lapid extended a warm welcome to all tourism stakeholders and encouraged them to leverage this opportunity for achieving long-term growth in their businesses. The event was graced by Department of Tourism Calabarzon Office Regional Director Marites Castro who also presented the Tourism Investment Situationer in CALABARZON region.

Among the distinguished speakers were Mr. Donald Maldonado from TIEZA, who discussed priority investment activities in tourism and the incentives available under the CREATE Act. Ms. Janeth Ocampo talked about investment opportunities in TIEZA assets. Experts from the Development Bank of the Philippines, Mr. Darwin Loria and Ms. Melissa Joy, along with Small Business Corporation, Mr. Ronald Inciong, underscored the ongoing efforts and initiatives of our partner financial institutions.

The event also served as a venue to network potential partnerships among 150 participating tourism stakeholders from the public and private sectors and media who are all aligned with TIEZA’s efforts in enticing the local tourism in the region.
