Manila, Philippines – The TIEZA – Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority participated in the 2024 Philippine Commercial Complex Development Summit held on August 15, 2024, at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila. This premier event, organized by Hotels, Offices, Parking, Shopping Malls, Convention Centers, and Apartments (HOPSCA) Asia, is one of the most significant gatherings of leaders and experts in the commercial complex development industry across the country.
Atty. Karen Mae Sarinas-Baydo, TIEZA’s Assistant Chief Operating Officer (ACOO), represented the Authority and delivered her presentation titled “Unlocking Opportunities: Exploring TIEZA’s Incentives Program and Investment Prospects.” Her talk focused on the strategic investment incentives provided by the TIEZA and the potential growth areas within the designated Flagship Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZs).
Urban development and commercial complexes (including hotels, offices, parking, shopping malls, convention centers, and apartments), are closely linked to tourism through its emphasis on integrated urban environments. Such developments contribute significantly to attracting visitors, accommodating tourists, and hosting events. This aligns with the TIEZA TEZ mandate which are directly geared toward enhancing tourism through investments in these components.
The summit provided a valuable platform for engaging with critical topics through insightful keynote presentations, panel discussions on emerging trends, and best practices in commercial real estate.
