Berlin, Germany – The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) joined the Philippine delegation at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2025, held from March 4-6, 2025.The Philippine delegation was led by Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor Nograles, alongside key representatives from the private sector, including Destination Management Companies (DMCs), tour operators, and accommodation providers. TIEZA’s delegation included EnP Francis Randy Hortelano (TEZ Management Sector), Ms. Irene Reyes-Tumaob (Asset Management Sector), and Atty. Ma. Teresa Alvarez (Offices Under the Chief Operating Officer).

Launched in 1966, ITB Berlin is recognized as the world’s leading travel trade show, drawing 100,000 participants and 5,800 exhibitors from 170 countries. With the theme “The Power of Transition Lives Here,” ITB Berlin 2025 addressed key challenges and opportunities in the evolving travel industry. The event attracted 24,000 convention participants, featuring 200 sessions across 17 themed tracks and over 400 speakers.

The conference emphasized technological advancements, digital transformation, and sustainability in tourism. Highlights included 35 groundbreaking solutions, ranging from AI-powered travel assistants to innovative sustainable tourism initiatives aimed at reshaping the global travel experience.
