In line with its continuing efforts to make transactions with Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZs) investors and locators more streamlined and efficient, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) officially launches the TIEZA Electronic Import Permit System (eiPS) on 27 March 2019 at its Central Office in Pasay City.
The eIPS is an online web-based system for the filing and processing of TIEZA Import Permit applications of TEZs and Registered Tourism Enterprises (RTEs). Using the eIPS, investors and locators can now submit the documentary requirements electronically through scanning and attaching the files within the website. Submission of hard copies will now only be required during the inspection stage, significantly shortening the application process from the minimum six (6) to a minimum of one (1) day.
Intercommerce will implement and support the eiPS through infrastructure, customer care, provision of report requirements, and delivery of TIEZA-required system enhancements.
TIEZA’s primary mandate is to designate, regulate, and supervise TEZs, as well as grant and administer incentives to RTEs. Through the eiPS, TIEZA intends to align its automated workflows and procedures, such as having a positive list of import products based on the registered business activity of the TIEZA RTEs and TEZs.
“We want to establish an efficient way of doing business with prospective investors for our TEZs and RTEs. The eiPS is our way of encouraging prospective investors by shortening the processing time for the application of import permits and for the investors to directly monitor the submission of the requirements in real time,” said TIEZA TEZ Management Sector Assistant Chief Operating Officer (ACOO) Karen Mae Sarinas-Baydo.
Also present in the event were TIEZA Chief Operating Officer Pocholo D. Paragas and Intercommerce President Mr. Francis Norman O. Lopez.
TIEZA is committed to continuously upgrading its system to make business transactions easier and more convenient.
