The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), a Government Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) attached to the Department of Tourism (DOT), was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 9593, otherwise known as the Tourism Act of 2009. It is responsible for implementing policies and programs of the DOT pertaining to the development, promotion, and supervision of tourism projects in the Philippines.
TIEZA’s main tasks include building tourism infrastructure, designation, regulation and supervision of Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZs), operation and management of TIEZA Assets , and the collection of the Philippine Travel Tax.

Hence, TIEZA assures you that all the personal and sensitive personal information we collect in accessing our website are protected and secured in accordance with TIEZA’s compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012(DPA), its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) and other issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).
In our commitment to protect your personal data, we will collect and use your personal information only for purposes you are aware of and have given consent to.

We will use the information we collect from you when you register primarily to: pay tax, book in our hotels, resorts, and golf courses, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:
1. To personalize your experience and to allow us to deliver the type of content and product offerings in which you are most interested.
2. To improve our website in order to better serve you.
3. To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
4. To quickly process your transactions.
5. To ask for ratings and reviews of services or products.
6. To follow up with them after correspondence (live chat, email or phone inquiries).
7. To process applications for online and onsite payment of Travel Tax.
8. To process refunds of online and onsite payment of Travel Tax.
9. To process requests for Travel Tax Exemption.
Secondarily, we will use the information as basis for data analytics, as historical references and as compliance with Commission on Audit requirements.
C. HOW WE STORE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The electronic personal information will be stored in a database for two years. Manual or physical records of the personal data information, if available, will then be disposed of through shredding, while electronic records will be permanently deleted and made unrecoverable in accordance with the governing rules of the National Archives of the Philippines.
D. THIRD PARTIES WE SHARE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The personal information, sensitive personal information we collected and processed and the personal data collected by our website cookies may be accessed by and shared with other government agencies such as (Commission on Audit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Civil Service Commission, Development Bank of the Philippines), private companies (such as airlines and payment gateway providers) and other individuals in connection with the use and purpose we mentioned through a Data Sharing Agreement.
E. RISKS INVOLVED WHEN WE COLLECT THE INFORMATION
During the collection of information, the only risk involved is the loss of physical documents provided by the clients. During storage, the risks involved are data breach, unauthorized disclosure, theft, and hardware failure.
F. PROTECTION MEASURES
The electronic and/or physical personal and sensitive personal information collected from you can only be accessed by authorized TIEZA personnel and by the authorized employees of government agencies and personal entities and individuals with existing Data Sharing Agreements with TIEZA. Electronic information is secured by standard server protection protocols such as firewalls, endpoint protection, and automatic backups.
G. WEBSITE ANALYTICS
TIEZA’s Management Information Systems Department (MISD) team keeps track of our web traffic data. TIEZA website is hosted at https://tieza.gov.ph and is therefore subject to the rules and policies that are applied there. The TIEZA website uses cookies.

Under the DPA, it is your right to be informed that no personal information shall be collected from you unless your consent is sought and you agree to the collection and processing of personal data information. Further, you can object to the processing and collecting of personal data information. You have reasonable access to the personal information collected from you. You can request for copies of the personal data you provided us. You can also correct or rectify your personal data if you believe it contains wrong details. You can block or remove your personal data if you discern that it needs to be deleted. You also have the right to data portability through which you may obtain and electronically move, copy, or transfer your data securely for further use.
Amendments to the Policy
From time to time, TIEZA may make changes to this Privacy Policy. We will post a new privacy policy in case the change or changes will substantially affect your personal data information. You may contact our DPO to request prior versions of the privacy policy should the need arise.
