PH Ambassador to the UAE Alfonso A. Ver, together with Assistant Chief Operating Officer Atty. Karen Sarinas-Baydo of the Tourism Infrastructure and Economic Zone Authority, led the opening on 7 May 2024 of the Philippine Pavilion at the ongoing 13th Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress 2024) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi. The Philippine participation is led by the Tourism Infrastructure and Economic Zone Authority (TIEZA).
“We once again witnessed the strong participation of the Philippines in the AIM Congress 2024 signaling our readiness to turn the huge potential of tourism investments into real gains. It is a pleasure to note that the Philippines is increasingly becoming an attractive investment, trade, and tourism destination for the UAE. Through TIEZA’s efforts, with the keen support of the Filipinos in the UAE, we hope to convince more companies in the UAE and the GCC region to invest in the Philippines given the huge potential that has yet to be fully utilized,” says Ambassador Ver.
The opening ceremony was attended by Board of Investments (BOI) Executive Director Evariste Cagatan, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Regatta Marie Antonio-Escutin, Trade Attaché Charmaine Yalong, and TIEZA delegation.
AIM Congress is a leading investment platform in the Middle East, providing opportunities to address challenges to achieving development, discuss investment trends and strategies that can be used to maximize the potential of businesses to fuel economic diversification within the country and the region.
